To accomplish this mission, you may be asked to provide certain pieces of information that will allow us to personalize your experience and/or begin the lending or consolidation process at your request. The following statement is designed to inform you of the methods we employ to collect and maintain information supplied by a consumer when visiting our website and the instances in which any of that information is disclosed to third parties. Our goal is to ensure that you comfortable and confident in our products and services and the manner in which your personal information is handled by our organization.

We restrict access to “Confidential Information” to only those employees who have a legitimate need to know the information in order to effectuate your transaction or provide the products or services you have requested. We provide training to all Academic Lending Center personnel regarding privacy issues, data security, organizational compliance requirements and the employee’s personal role in maintaining the security of “Confidential Information”. In fact, we utilize both physical and electronic protection for your information that meets and often exceeds the requirements imposed by law.

Additionally, given the sensitive nature of the information we receive from borrowers, the Academic Lending Center website utilizes Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and public key cryptography. We do use cookies in a number of applications on our website. Their use aids us in determining how borrowers and the public in general is using our website. Again, this information is merely used to determine the effectiveness of our site. We do not collect your e-mail address or any personally identifiable, nonpublic information from you unless you specifically provide it to us.

In order for us to process your requests for student lending products and services, we will need to disclose some, or all of your “Confidential Information” with other organizations as permitted by law. These organizations and the reason for information disclosure may include the following:

• Financial Institutions. Your information may be disclosed to various financial institutions who own or service your current student loans in an effort to verify your loan information. Additional reasons for disclosure to such entities include the underwriting or servicing of your student loans including a new consolidation loan.
• Schools and Universities. Schools and universities may need various pieces of your person information to verify your attendance, financial loan status, cost of attendance or for the purpose of verifying loan information for those loans owned by the school itself.
• Credit Bureaus and Reporting Agencies. Disclosure to these entities will be made only as far as necessary to approve loan requests.

Any disclosure to these organizations will be done only as necessary to perform their functions in providing to you the product or service you requested. These organizations are not permitted to use this information for their own purposes or to sell the information to any other entity.

The Academic Lending Center is committed to ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information. Accordingly, we shall not sell nor share information wit any non-affiliated third party except as authorized by a borrower, permitted or required by law or in accordance with the above. Additionally, access to your “Confidential Information” is strictly limited to authorized personnel and affiliated organizations who need this information to further the transactions you have initiated and/or requested. Unless proscribed by state or federal law, you do have the right to view any personally identifiable information we have collected from you through your sessions on the Academic Lending Center website. You also have the right to amend this information if necessary or to request that the information be removed from our systems. Please be advised that the Academic Lending Center does not intent to collect nonpublic personal information from children under the age of thirteen (13).
